Professional Photographer Andrew Lucas
Honestly, I do not remember when I took my first photograph but I have always been very sentimental about this show, coming back to the works I used for it even today. Actually, I do not consider my best images to be the ones I will make tomorrow. I love them all as if they were my children.
Many of my photo works are far from the nude genre. Beyond the nude photography and stylized shots, I also love landscapes and underwater photography. I do not hide them, but coincidently they are not in the spotlights.
My work generates different, often opposite views from the respected professionals. My style comes under many comments and criticism. However, I do not want to work without any imagination.
The Principles of My Creativity
I can stare at some masterpieces of photographic arts for hours, like children drooling with admiration and envy. To me, an image is successful only when it has a connection. When I shoot nude models particularly, not a vulgar desire towards the model, but the aesthetic pleasure makes the image sublime. Throughout the history, the female body was inspiring mankind through its heroic triumphs and transgressions: what can be added to that? I am just a grain of sand in a dune, subjected to the same law of gravity.
Whatever comes out of my work is the result of ups and downs in my life with its own scale, dynamics and direction. It simply takes time, instinct and fleeting moods to share your story with the viewers who will make it their own in turn.
